Why is a neighbourhood plan being prepared for Point Douglas?
It’s anticipated that the planned bus rapid transit route along Sutherland Avenue will speed up the demand to build more housing units and other buildings on former industrial lands.

What is a neighbourhood plan?
We are developing a neighbourhood plan, also known as a secondary plan, to guide future development in Point Douglas.
A secondary plan is a document that provides a vision, along with objectives and policies (rules) which guide development of an area into the future. All development in the plan area must conform with the secondary plan once adopted by Council as a secondary plan by-law.
