Transit Plus No-Show and Late Cancellation Policy
Each year, we provide nearly 300,000 trips to about 5,000 customers. We also manage about 100,000 no-shows and trip cancellations every year.
Transit Plus is changing how it manages no-shows and late cancellations, targeting those with the most impact to our service. When a no-show or late cancellation occurs, a vehicle goes unused, and a trip is wasted. That means fewer customers can take trips. The goal of the proposed Transit Plus No-show and Late Cancellation Policy is to improve service for customers.

Thank you for sharing your feedback
Share Thank you for sharing your feedback on Facebook Share Thank you for sharing your feedback on Twitter Share Thank you for sharing your feedback on Linkedin Email Thank you for sharing your feedback linkThank you to everyone who took the time to share your thoughts. We heard that while many people agree changes are needed to reduce no-shows and late cancellations, the proposed policy needed improvements and should wait until the service is working better.
Since community engagement in 2023, Transit Plus has made major improvements. This includes a new trip booking system that launched in June 2024.
How your feedback was used
We updated the 2023 proposed policy using:
- Your feedback
- Service data
- A review of how other cities manage no-shows
Your feedback helped us revise the proposed policy to make it clearer, fairer, and more flexible. If the revised policy had been in place over the past year, only about three percent of customers would have had their service temporarily suspended.Read the Public Engagement Summary (PDF) and Appendices (PDF) for an overview of what we heard and how it was considered in the revised policy.
You can also review the Transit Plus No-Show and Late Cancellation Policy (Revised Proposal), which shows a comparison of the existing policy, the 2023 proposed policy, and the 2026 revised policy. This information is available in HTML and PDF formats.
What’s next
Before these proposed changes go to City Council later this year, we want to share our recommendations with customers, stakeholders, and the public.
