Youville to Archibald proposed improvements – Marion and Archibald intersection
Happyland Park – Scenario 1: Multi-use path north/south through Happyland Park along Archibald (ending at Marion)
(select map to enlarge)
If active transportation infrastructure is not added along the Marion-Goulet couplet nor introduced along St. Mary’s to Eugenie, Scenario 1 would be required for Happyland Park.
This scenario makes improvements to each mode’s current experience, but also presents some implications.
Vehicles

Improvements
- Traffic flow would be improved on the roadway.
- The proposed medians would improve safety by reducing conflicts.
Pedestrians
Implications
- Eastbound/westbound pedestrians would have a longer crossing distance at Archibald.
Improvements
- Transit stops would be relocated to improve pedestrian access.
- Large medians/islands would provide pedestrians safe places to stop.
Cyclists
Implications
- Cyclists whose destination is not on the adjacent greenway must ride on the road.
Improvements
- Continuance of the pilot greenway would see traffic calming measures continue.
