The Crescentwood neighbourhood has a unique history and an outstanding collection of heritage homes and buildings, many of which were built between 1900 and 1914. For years, area residents have been advocating for heritage conservation district (HCD) status. HCDs conserve areas of special architectural and historical significance and manage future changes within the district boundaries.
There are three steps in the process of establishing a heritage conservation district:
On February 26, 2020, property owners in the area met for an initial HCD workshop. You can view the February 26, 2020 presentation here. A follow-up in-person property owner workshop was scheduled for April 4th. This workshop was unfortunately cancelled due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19.

At the information meeting, participants were asked to comment on the proposed heritage values above and to identify others that were important to them. Additional comments heard at the information meeting have been listed as ideas in this activity.
