Old Ex Renewal: Recreation and park improvements at Sergeant Tommy Prince Place
Winnipeg’s outdoor recreation and leisure spaces contribute to the quality of life for residents and visitors. They improve our health and wellbeing, strengthen our communities, and make our city a more enjoyable place to live, work and play.
When engaging with community members on the North District Police Station (NDPS) in 2018, we heard concern about how the then-proposed construction could impact outdoor recreation facilities and greenspace.

Participants will receive an email in the week after the event which will include an invitation to take an online survey about the proposed design. Alternatively, participants can complete the survey on the project webpage.
What is the ParticiPARKS project?
ParticiPARKS are inclusive and accessible outdoor physical activity and recreation spaces that are being designed in select communities in Canada as part of a pilot project funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. ParticipACTION and Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds are collaborating with each municipality on its ParticiPARK design to ensure it meets the unique needs of the community.
