Name that Plow!

You helped us name:

• Six loaders
• Six grading machines
• A team of smaller sidewalk and pathway plows

The loaders and graders are part of a hardworking group of heavy equipment that keep people moving on our streets every winter.

We looked for kids (or kids at heart) to submit individual names. We asked Winnipeggers to vote on the 12 best.

The team of smaller plows are relatively new to Winnipeg and keep sidewalks and pathways clean and safe for pedestrians and cyclists. We looked for creative classrooms to submit their best team name for this group.

Here are the important details:

• Winnipeggers submitted entries from November 20 to December 5.
  • We reviewed all entries and picked our favourites.
• On December 8, we posted our favourite submissions from each category for all of Winnipeg to vote on.
• Voting was open December 8-31, 2025.
• We notified the winners in January 2026.

The 12 individual winners were invited to a special announcement in January 2026. We had custom name plates printed for each of them as a keepsake of their win.

The winning classroom entry will get a pizza party at City Hall with Mayor Scott Gillingham.
