Northwest Winnipeg is growing fast. There is no library nearby for many people in the area. In May 2025, Council approved a new library in the Garden City Shopping Centre. The location has heavy foot traffic and plenty of parking. It’s also easy to get to by bus. The new Mike O’Shaughnessy Library is expected to open in late 2026.
