  • Hall building demolition

    On April 25, 2024, Council approved funding for the demolition of the old hall building, located at 80 Derek Street. The City will start planning the demolition process over the course of 2024.

    The public engagement summary and appendices are now available and provide an overview of the community input collected for the project.

    Community input helped the City develop a master plan for the Victoria site. The master plan and cost estimates will be used for future funding requests and site planning. Funding is needed before construction begins.

    The master plan for the Fort Garry Community Centre Victoria Site includes removing the old hall building and replacing it with a new spray pad, a new ashphalt surface in the north ice rink with tennis and backetball in the summer, new playground, new trails, reconfigured parking lot, rain garden, community garden and orchard, and outdoor patio and canteen.View the full-size master plan.
