Consultation has concluded

The purpose of this study is to develop a plan and cost estimate for regional water and sewer infrastructure for use in future planning in the area west of the airport. Information about the cost of water and sewer infrastructure will support the future decisions around growth and development of this unserviced area. 

The study area boundaries include the Rural Municipality (RM) of Rosser to the north, the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport to the east, Saskatchewan Avenue to the south, and the Perimeter Highway to the west.

    In 2022 and 2023 respectively, the City of Winnipeg and the Province of Manitoba committed funding for regional water and wastewater infrastructure in CentrePort South (Airport Area West). On March 2, 2023 the RFP for the professional consulting services for CentrePort South (Airport Area West) Regional Water and Wastewater Servicing – Phase 1A Detailed Design and Contract Administration (RFP 122-2023) was released. It is scheduled to close at noon, Winnipeg time, on April 12, 2023.

    A Class 3 (-20% to +30%) cost estimate for regional water and sewer infrastructure has been developed. The cost estimate will used to inform future decisions regarding development and planning in the Airport Area West lands.

    A stakeholder engagement summary is now available and provides an overview of the feedback collected for the project. Thank you to all who participated. Please visit the Document Library to view the stakeholder engagement summary.

    A Class 3 (-20% to +30%) cost estimate will be developed before the project is complete in fall 2020. The preliminary design report executive summary will be available at the end of the project. The cost estimate will used to inform future decisions regarding development and planning in the Airport Area West lands.

    Our engagement goals for this project are to:

    • Share study highlights with key stakeholders and landowners.
    • Communicate how stakeholder input was used to help shape the Airport Area West Regional Water and Wastewater Servicing Study.
