Council review
Read the Public Engagement Report and appendices to learn more about how your feedback helped update the temporary bike lane design.
What we heard
Late last year you shared feedback about how a temporary bike lane on Wellington Crescent would affect you. We heard that:
- Right now, cycling feels unsafe. Driving feels safe. Walking feels safe for some and unsafe for others.
- People use Wellington Crescent in many different ways.
- If we add a temporary bike lane, most cyclists think it would be a good change.
- Residents on this section of Wellington Crescent are divided. Some think it would improve their experience. Others think it would make it worse.
- There is strong support for a permanent solution.
Next steps
An administrative report will be presented to the Standing Policy Committee on Public Works on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. The report recommends approving the updated interim bike lane design and lowering speeds to 40 km/h.
The meeting will also be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel.
