Phase 2 construction will begin May 3, 2021. The work plan is as follows:

Pavement removal, realignment of Wellington Crescent and multi-use pathway, addition of new street lighting, relocation of Assiniboine Park east gate, tension crack sealing, riverbank regrading, drainage improvements, naturalization, installation of the new wilderness trail, and additional landscaping. |
Wellington Crescent will be closed to all traffic during Phase 2. Sidewalks, emergency services access, and access to properties will be maintained, including access to the east entrance of Assiniboine Park.
Portions of the existing walking and cycling pathway will be closed as construction progresses. A temporary multi-use pathway will be provided for walking and cycling through the area. Please observe and follow detour signage while walking or cycling through the site.
Please be advised that the City of Winnipeg Water and Waste Department is also undertaking a separate water main renewal project in the area concurrently starting in May 2021. Notices of water main renewal work will be provided separately to affected area residents and businesses in advance to the work.
