The City is reaching out to stakeholder organizations that serve those living in poverty and people with lived experience of poverty and homelessness to discuss opportunities to further reduce poverty in Winnipeg. Stakeholder input will be used to inform the development of the overall Poverty Reduction Strategy, and to identify priorities and potential actions for implementation within existing budgets.

A core working team has been formed to guide the development of the Poverty Reduction Strategy. This team includes representatives from City departments including the Community Services Department, the Indigenous Relations Division, and the Planning Property & Development Department, as well as community representatives from Make Poverty History Manitoba and the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council.
