Council decision
On December 15, 2022, Council voted that the results of the Parking Signs Pilot project in the Exchange District be received as information and that none of the piloted parking signage be installed on City streets.
While new signs will not be installed, the City will explore redesigning the accessible parking and accessible loading zone signs with the help of feedback from the pilot project. The City also intends to review ways to simplify the parking rules. This will help address feedback heard in the survey and focus groups that parking rules are complex, resulting in complicated parking signs.
The Parking Signs Pilot project occurred from summer 2021 to spring 2022. The pilot project tested new parking guides and regulatory parking signs in the Exchange District. The new signs aimed to make it easier for drivers to know when and where they could park. The public provided feedback on the signs throughout the pilot project.
This project has concluded.
