Project update

We’re moving to the next stage of planning for a new bridge and accessible pathways. On December 12, 2024 Council approved the Report of the Standing Policy Committee on Public Works to start planning and designing a new pedestrian bridge and accessible pathways.

The next step is hiring a consultant to work on the preliminary design of the Omand Park Pedestrian/Cycle Bridge replacement.

We used what we heard from you to help define the scope of this contract. Because of your input, we are asking prospective consultants to commit to:

• Improving accessibility
• Protecting the natural environment
• Addressing flood risks

Once we award the contract, we will work with the consultant to prepare design options. We will bring these design options to you later this year for feedback.
